Chapter 42: HIS LUNA
Taming the True Blood Alpha
The morning sun barely peeked through the thick canopy of trees surrounding
the pack’s training grounds, casting golden streaks of light over the
dewdrop-covered grass. A crisp breeze carried the scent of damp earth and pine,
a stark contrast to the weight of responsibility pressing down on Taehyung and
Jungkook.
After the chaos of last day, it was evident that Taehyung had no control
over his newly awakened True Blood Alpha. His wolf had acted on sheer instinct,
blinded by bloodlust, and had nearly attacked his own packmates. If Jungkook
hadn’t stepped in, things could have ended much worse.
That was why today, before Woosik could make his move, Taehyung and Jungkook
needed to train. They had to ensure that Taehyung could master his wolf before
the full moon arrived.
Jungkook stood a few feet away, arms crossed, his stance firm. His sharp
eyes watched Taehyung carefully, analyzing every movement. Despite his mate’s
playful and teasing nature, Jungkook knew Taehyung took this seriously. He had
to.
“Close your eyes,” Jungkook instructed, his voice steady yet gentle. “Feel
your wolf’s presence, don’t fight it. Let it flow through you.”
Taehyung inhaled deeply, letting the crisp air fill his lungs. He focused on
the powerful energy resting within him, the beast that had once broken free
uncontrollably. It rumbled inside him, restless, waiting.
Jungkook continued, stepping closer. “The problem isn’t your wolf’s
power—it’s your control over it. If you let it rule you, you’ll lose yourself
to the bloodlust again. We need to find balance.”
Taehyung smirked slightly, peeking one eye open. “Are you saying my wolf is
too powerful even for me?”
Jungkook rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide the small smile on his lips. “I’m
saying you need to stop thinking like an arrogant alpha and listen to your mate
for once.”
Taehyung chuckled before closing his eyes again. He reached inward, feeling
the raw power coiled within him. His muscles tensed as a familiar burning
sensation spread through his veins.
“Good,” Jungkook murmured. “Now shift, but slowly. Stay aware. Keep your
mind in control.”
A deep growl vibrated in Taehyung’s chest as his bones began to shift.
Unlike before, when his transformation had been forced and violent, this time
he tried to embrace it. His hands curled into claws, his fangs elongated, and
dark fur spread across his body. His heartbeat thundered in his ears, but he
held on, resisting the primal urge to let go completely.
Jungkook took a cautious step forward. “Now, focus on me.”
Taehyung’s glowing crimson eyes snapped toward Jungkook, but this time,
there was recognition in them. He wasn’t lost. He was still present, still in
control.
Jungkook smiled. “That’s it.”
Just then, Taehyung’s wolf growled lowly, his instincts screaming to
pounce—to challenge—to dominate. He took a step forward, muscles coiled like a
spring ready to explode.
Jungkook, never one to back down, smirked and shifted instantly. His black
wolf, sleek and regal, met Taehyung’s gaze with an unshaken confidence. His
purple eyes burned like amethysts under the morning light.
“Come on, Alpha,” Jungkook’s voice echoed through the bond, teasing yet
firm. “Let’s see if you can control yourself.”
With a snarl, Taehyung lunged.
Jungkook dodged effortlessly, dancing out of reach, his movements fluid and
calculated. Taehyung growled in frustration but adjusted, circling his mate
like a predator sizing up its prey.
“Think before you act,” Jungkook warned through their link. “Don’t just rely
on strength. Control it.”
Taehyung bared his fangs but slowed his steps. He watched Jungkook’s
movements, observing the way his mate maneuvered. Instead of charging blindly,
he waited, calculated, and—
In a split second, Taehyung struck, but with controlled precision.
His massive form tackled Jungkook, pinning the smaller wolf down without
harming him. Jungkook huffed in annoyance, but there was a glint of
satisfaction in his eyes.
“Well, well,” Jungkook said, shifting back into his human form beneath
Taehyung’s heavy paw. “You actually listened.”
Taehyung snorted before shifting back himself, his breath slightly labored.
His golden skin glistened under the rising sun as he loomed over Jungkook,
hands pressed into the ground on either side of his mate’s head.
“You’re a good teacher,” he admitted, voice deep and husky.
Jungkook rolled his eyes, placing a hand on Taehyung’s chest. “Get off me,
you overgrown puppy.”
Taehyung smirked but leaned in closer, his nose brushing against Jungkook’s.
“Make me, princess.”
Jungkook flushed, his face turning red. “I swear to the Moon Goddess, if you
don’t—”
Before he could finish, Taehyung scooped him up effortlessly, carrying him
bridal style. Jungkook yelped, kicking his legs. “Put me down, you idiot!”
Taehyung laughed, spinning them around before finally setting Jungkook on
his feet. “See? I have control now.”
Jungkook huffed, dusting himself off. “Barely.” But his eyes held something
softer—pride. Taehyung was learning, and that meant they had a fighting chance.
Just then, Namjoon’s voice echoed from the distance. “The enemy is just few nights
away. Gather in the war room. We need to discuss about Woosik.”
Jungkook and Taehyung shared a look. The playful moment faded as reality
settled in once more.
The war was coming.
And they had to be ready.
