Chapter 57: HIS LUNA
The Ritual of Separation
Darkness clung to the air, thick with the scent of burnt herbs and iron. The
ground was painted in strange, ancient symbols, glowing faintly as the witches
chanted in hushed, eerie tones. The only source of light was the flickering
candles circling the center of the chamber—a place reeking of death and black
magic.
Jungkook stirred, his mind groggy, body aching as if he had been drained of
all strength. His head throbbed with an unbearable pressure, and his throat was
parched. Slowly, he forced his eyes open, but the dim, hazy light stung them.
It took him a moment to register his surroundings.
He was inside a cage.
Thick iron bars pulsed with an unnatural energy, radiating an ominous glow.
He could feel it—black magic, corrupt and suffocating. His wrists burned where
enchanted silver shackles restrained him, suppressing his wolf completely.
Then he saw him.
Cha Woosik.
The monster who had tormented their kind, the source of all their pain and
suffering, stood before him, cloaked in arrogance and power. His dark eyes
gleamed with satisfaction as he observed Jungkook, a twisted smirk playing on
his lips.
"You're finally awake," Woosik said, his voice smooth, controlled.
"Took longer than I expected, but it does not matter. We have all the time
in the world."
Jungkook swallowed the bile rising in his throat and lifted his chin
defiantly, masking the fear that threatened to consume him. He would not show
weakness. No. Never.
"What do you want?" His voice was hoarse but steady.
Woosik chuckled, stepping closer to the cage. "Isn’t it obvious, little
omega? I am taking back what belongs to me."
Jungkook clenched his fists. "I was never yours. And I never will
be."
The amusement in Woosik’s eyes flickered, replaced by something far more
menacing. "Oh, but you were. Once. And soon, you will be again."
Jungkook’s stomach twisted as he noticed the ritual markings on the ground,
the witches’ continued chanting, the way the dark energy coiled around him like
invisible chains. He knew what they were doing.
They were trying to break his bond with Taehyung.
Panic surged through him, but he forced himself to remain calm. The mate
bond was sacred, unbreakable by mere mortals. But black magic was different—it
defied the natural laws of their kind.
How long had they been at this? How much time did he have left before it was
too late?
Jungkook closed his eyes briefly, whispering a silent prayer.
Taehyung… find me. Please.
His heart ached as he felt for their bond—only to be met with an empty void.
The connection between him and Taehyung, the very thing that tethered them
together, was barely there. Weak. Flickering.
It felt like Woosik’s magic was already sinking its claws into it.
Jungkook gritted his teeth and glared at Woosik. "You think this will
work? Do you really think you can sever a bond blessed by the Moon
Goddess?"
Woosik smirked. "I don’t think, little omega. I know. And once I do…
your precious Taehyung will lose himself in agony."
Jungkook’s breath hitched, but he didn’t let his fear show. He dug his nails
into his palms, his mind racing. He couldn’t let this happen. He had to hold
on.
For Taehyung.
For their love.
For their pack.
No matter how much pain they inflicted, no matter how much dark magic they
poured into him, he wouldn’t give up.
His mate would come for him.
He just had to survive until then.
Gritting his teeth, Jungkook reached deep within himself, trying to summon
his wolf—to shift, to break through this cage, to fight. But all he felt was...
nothing. A vast emptiness where his wolf should have been.
His breath quickened. No. No. No.
Woosik's smirk widened as he watched realization dawn on Jungkook’s face.
"Ah, you’re just now noticing, aren’t you? That cage isn’t just any cage.
It’s designed to strip you of your wolf. To make you weak."
Jungkook’s fingers trembled as he pressed his palm to his chest, trying to
feel for the familiar warmth of his wolf’s presence—but it was gone. His
lifeline, his strength, his very essence... locked away.
A cold dread seeped into his bones.
"By the time Taehyung finds you—if he finds you—you’ll already be
mine."
Jungkook glared at him, rage and defiance burning in his eyes. He didn’t
care if he couldn’t shift. He didn’t care if he was weakened.
He would never belong to Woosik.
And he would fight until his last breath to make sure of it.
