Chapter Eighty-one "Phoenix in His Arms"
The Truth Unveiled
The entire hall fell into stunned silence at
Taehyung’s words.
Then, all at once, voices erupted in chaos.
“Just because you're doing disgusting things
doesn't change the truth!”
“No matter what you say, it doesn’t erase the
fact that you two are brothers!”
“This is beyond unacceptable!”
Professors shouted over one another, their
anger and disbelief spilling into the room like a tidal wave. Some banged their
fists against the table, others turned to Namjoon for an immediate explanation,
and a few stared in horror, unable to comprehend what they had just heard.
Yet, amid the uproar, Taehyung stood unfazed,
a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
He let them rage for a few moments before
speaking again, his deep voice cutting through the chaos like a knife.
“I believe I showed you all some pictures,” he
said, his tone eerily calm. “But did I ever announce that Jungkook is my
brother?”
A thick, uncomfortable silence fell over the
room once more as his words registered.
The professors exchanged glances, some
frowning in confusion, others blinking as if trying to recall the exact
sequence of events.
“Didn't I only present some of mine and
Jungkook's pictures together, after the welcome party night because of the
commotion?” Taehyung continued, taking slow, deliberate steps forward. His gaze
was sharp and challenging as he looked around the room.
“I never said anything about me and Jungkook
being brothers. You all came to that conclusion on your own. It isn't my fault
if you all couldn't come up with something else but to call us brothers.”
Murmurs of doubt began to replace the previous
shouts of anger. Some of the professors looked at each other with hesitation,
realizing that Taehyung was right. He had never stated such a thing—only they
had assumed it.
Taehyung’s attention then turned to Jenny, his
smirk widening. “I revealed that I was already bonded with someone when Miss
Jenny proposed to me at the welcome party, but everyone thought I was just
making an excuse to reject her.”
The hall grew even quieter, the weight of his
words settling heavily on everyone present.
With deliberate movements, Taehyung walked
towards Jungkook, who was still sitting in the chair, his eyes slightly teary
from the overwhelming situation.
The room watched in stunned silence as
Taehyung reached out and unbuttoned the top two buttons of Jungkook’s shirt.
Gasps echoed across the room when a silver
chain with a ring attached to it was revealed—identical to the one Taehyung
wore.
Taehyung took Jungkook’s hand gently, sliding
the ring onto his finger as he knelt in front of him. The sight of the usually
composed and cold professor kneeling before Jungkook left everyone speechless.
Looking up at Jungkook with soft yet
determined eyes, Taehyung spoke clearly, his voice steady and full of emotion.
“I already introduced my little brat a few days ago, but today, let me
officially introduce you all to the person who tied me to himself when he was
merely six years old—the most important person in my life, my husband, Kim
Jungkook.”
Murmurs filled the hall as Taehyung’s friends
smiled at the revelation, while others, who had been unaware, whispered to each
other in shock. Jenny, who was fuming in anger because things were not going
the way she had planned, still refused to back down.
She suddenly shouted, “It is forbidden for a
professor to be in any kind of relationship with a student! This will set a bad
example for the university!”
Some of the professors hesitated, while others
nodded in agreement with Jenny’s outburst.
“This is against university policy,” another
professor added. “For breaking the rules, they should both be expelled from the
university!”
Suddenly, a dominating voice echoed through
the hall, silencing everyone.
“Who are you to decide who will stay in my
university and who will be thrown out?”
