Chapter Fifty-Two "Phoenix in His Arms"
Jungkook’s Justification
After an eternity of sleep, Jungkook finally dragged himself out of bed,
yawning as he stretched. After getting ready for university, Jungkook finally
trudged downstairs, his hair still slightly damp from his shower.
The warm scent of breakfast filled the air, making his stomach growl as he
stepped into the dining room. With a lazy yawn, he plopped down at the table,
rubbing his eyes before reaching for his chopsticks.
Mrs. Kim smiled as she set a plate in front of him. "Good morning,
Kookie. You look well-rested."
Jungkook grinned as he took his first bite. "Morning, Momma and Dada.
Yeah, I slept great."
Mr. Kim chuckled knowingly. "I bet you did."
Jungkook paused, blinking in confusion. "What?"
Mrs. Kim sat beside him, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "So, how
was last night? You seemed quite... determined to teach Taehyung a
lesson."
At the mention of Taehyung, Jungkook perked up, grinning mischievously.
"Oh! I totally punished Hyung for letting that annoying Professor Jenny
cling to him. He deserved it! I mean, Hyung always punishes me when I do
something wrong, so it’s only fair, right?"
Mr. Kim let out a small laugh. "I see. So you believe in equal
treatment, huh?"
Jungkook nodded enthusiastically, stuffing his mouth with food. "Of
course! Hyung has to understand that I won’t just let anyone get too close to
him. It’s my responsibility to protect him from bad people. He’s too reserved
to say when he’s uncomfortable, so I have to be the one to keep an eye on
things."
Mrs. Kim cooed, pinching his cheek. "Our Kookie is so
responsible."
Jungkook beamed under the praise, completely missing the sly exchange of
glances between his parents.
Mr. Kim leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "Well, I suppose
that means you’ll continue to ‘punish’ Taehyung if he misbehaves?"
Jungkook shrugged. "Obviously. Someone has to keep him in check."
Mrs. Kim giggled. "Oh, don’t worry, sweetheart. We fully support your
method of discipline."
Jungkook’s innocent smile remained, oblivious to the teasing edge in his
mother’s voice. He simply continued eating, nodding to himself. "Good.
I’ll make sure he doesn’t let anyone cling to him like that again."
Mr. Kim sipped his coffee, shaking his head in amusement. "Oh, Taehyung
is in trouble."
Mrs. Kim smirked. "Yes, and he has no idea what’s coming."
Jungkook finished his meal, feeling refreshed and victorious from last
night’s events. He stretched, popping his joints, before turning to his parents
with a bright grin. "I really taught Hyung a lesson yesterday," he
announced proudly, puffing out his chest.
Mr. Kim chuckled, exchanging a knowing look with his wife. "Hmm, and
how did he take his punishment?"
Jungkook waved his hand dismissively. "Oh, he was totally speechless.
He kept trying to get free, but nope! I made sure he stayed put."
Mrs. Kim giggled. "Well, it’s important to set boundaries. You did the
right thing, Kookie."
Jungkook grinned, pleased with himself, and grabbed his bag. "I should
head to the university now. My first lecture is long, and guess what? It’s none
other than Professor Kim’s class."
Mr. Kim smirked. "Oh, I’m sure it’ll be an interesting lecture
today."
Jungkook groaned dramatically. "It’s going to be torture! But I’ll
survive."
Mrs. Kim patted his cheek. "You always do, sweetheart."
With a final wave, Jungkook walked out, heading toward the university. He
had no idea that his so-called ‘punishment’ had left Taehyung in a state of
complete chaos. And with Taehyung being his professor, today’s lecture was
about to be far more intense than he expected.
