Chapter Seventy-nine "Phoenix in His Arms"
The Scandal Unveiled
The faculty meeting was in full swing, with
discussions focused on the upcoming annual exams, new student admission plans,
and university advertisements. The professors sat around the large conference
table, their expressions serious as they exchanged opinions and strategies.
Professor Jenny, as the in-charge of such
events, confidently took center stage, explaining her proposals with an air of
authority. “I have prepared several designs for the new session’s advertisement
and promotional materials,” she stated, clicking on the projector to display
her work.
The screen lit up, showing a series of elegant
designs, but before Jenny could continue, the image suddenly changed.
A hush fell over the room.
On the large screen, displayed in front of the
entire faculty, was a picture of Taehyung kissing Jungkook in his office. It
wasn’t a friendly or brotherly peck—it was intimate, undeniable.
Gasps echoed through the room. Namjoon’s eyes
widened in shock, Seokjin’s jaw dropped, Yoongi tensed in his seat, and
Hoseok’s eyes flickered with both disbelief and concern. Jenny’s smug
expression faltered as whispers erupted among the staff.
Before anyone could react, the screen
flickered again.
A second image appeared—Jungkook sleeping
soundly over Taehyung, his face nuzzled into the older man’s chest, while
Taehyung’s hand rested on his waist, inside his clothes. The sight of such a
private moment being exposed in front of the entire faculty sent a ripple of
tension through the room.
And then—
Another picture.
This time, Jungkook was pinned against the
wall in what looked like a changing room. Taehyung was pressed close, their
faces mere inches apart, the moment so intense that the air in the room felt
heavy with an unspoken charge.
A loud, enraged voice shattered the silence.
“This is unacceptable!” an elderly professor
shouted, slamming his hand on the table. “This is highly inappropriate! What is
the meaning of this?!”
The room was thrown into chaos. Some
professors whispered among themselves, while others looked at Taehyung with
shock and disbelief. Jenny, who had been standing at the front, looked pale and
visibly shaken.
Namjoon immediately stood up, trying to regain
control of the situation. “Everyone, calm down. We need to handle this
rationally.”
But then another voice spoke up, this time
filled with accusation and disgust.
“Handle this rationally?” one of the senior
professors scoffed. “Taehyung and Jungkook are brothers! This is not just
inappropriate; this is disgusting!”
“How could they betray their family like
this?” another professor muttered, shaking their head in disbelief.
“This will ruin the university’s reputation if
it gets out!” someone else added.
The air was thick with judgment, and more
voices joined in, each one voicing their disapproval.
Taehyung remained eerily silent, his
expression unreadable as his dark eyes scanned the room. Namjoon clenched his
jaw, trying to think of a way to fix this before things spiraled out of
control.
Then, someone quietly stepped out of the room,
taking out their phone. Dialing a number, they spoke in hushed tones,
"Sir, there's a serious issue. A professor from our university is in an
inappropriate relationship with his younger brother. The situation is
escalating. You need to intervene before things get out of hand."
Meanwhile, in the cafeteria, Jungkook and his
friends were laughing and teasing each other while stuffing their faces with
food. The atmosphere was light, filled with joy, completely detached from the
storm brewing elsewhere in the university.
Suddenly, the cafeteria fell silent.
Jungkook barely had time to react before the
announcement echoed through the speakers, summoning him to the conference hall.
His laughter died in his throat, confusion evident on his face.
“What did you do this time?” Soobin asked,
half-joking, half-concerned.
Jungkook whined, stuffing another bite of food
in his mouth. “I didn’t do anything!” he defended, swallowing quickly before
getting up. His heart pounded slightly, an unease settling in his stomach.
His friends exchanged looks, debating whether
to follow. Ultimately, they decided to stay just outside the conference hall,
waiting for him. Something about this felt different—something felt wrong.
