CHAPTER 24 TO 32 : Phoenix in his arms

Chapter Twenty-Five: Morning Mayhem

The next morning, the grand Kim mansion was anything but peaceful.

Sunlight streamed through the curtains, but none of the four sleepyheads had any intention of waking up. Yes! They ended up sleeping in Jungkook's room. That was until the door to Jungkook’s room burst open with a dramatic flair.

“Rise and shine, babies!” Mrs. Kim’s cheerful voice rang through the room, making Jungkook groan and bury himself deeper under the blankets.

“Five more minutes…” he mumbled, his voice muffled by the pillow.

Niki, curled up on the couch, swatted lazily at the air. “We slept so late, let us rest in peace.”

Soobin, still half-dreaming, turned to the other side and muttered, “No school today, Mom…”

Jimin, sprawled out on the floor with a blanket tangled around his legs, groaned in frustration. “Mrs. Kim, why do you sound so energetic this early in the morning?”

Mrs. Kim chuckled. “Because it’s already past nine, and breakfast is getting cold. And don’t forget…” She leaned against the doorframe with a knowing smile. “It’s Sunday.”

Jungkook’s eyes shot open. “Oh no.”

Niki rubbed her eyes. “What’s so bad about Sunday?”

Soobin sat up slowly, confused. “Yeah, shouldn’t weekends be relaxing?”

Jungkook gulped. “Not in this house. We have to be at the breakfast table by ten, or else…”

“Or else what?” Jimin yawned.

Mrs. Kim sighed dramatically. “Oh, you know, a hundred pushups in the gym and no ice cream for a whole week.”

Jungkook gasped, immediately kicking off the blankets. “I REFUSE TO LOSE MY ICE CREAM PRIVILEGES.”

His panic set off a chain reaction. Niki shrieked, Soobin tumbled off the couch, and Jimin scrambled to his feet. They dashed to the bathroom, chaos erupting as they fought for space to freshen up. Niki nearly slipped, Soobin tripped over a towel, and Jimin barely managed to rinse his face before Jungkook yanked him toward the door.

They bolted down the hallway, almost tripping over their own feet, and stormed into the dining hall just in time.

Taehyung sat at the head of the table, sipping his coffee, looking effortlessly refined in his crisp button-up and glasses. He raised an unimpressed brow as he watched the four out-of-breath boys stumble into their seats.

“You look like you fought a war,” he commented dryly.

“We did,” Jungkook huffed, running a hand through his messy hair.

Mrs. Kim smiled as she placed a basket of freshly baked pastries on the table. “Eat up, kids.”

Jungkook eagerly grabbed a plate and piled it with food, as did his friends. They were halfway through breakfast when Taehyung suddenly spoke again.

“Jungkook.”

Jungkook, mid-bite, looked up hesitantly. “Yes, Hyung?”

“No ice cream for you this week.”

Jungkook almost choked. “W-What? Why?!”

Taehyung smirked. “You were late.”

Jungkook turned to Mrs. Kim with teary eyes. “Mumma, he’s being mean again!”

Mrs. Kim patted his head affectionately. “You know the rules, sweetheart.”

Niki, Soobin, and Jimin exchanged amused looks. Jimin whispered, “I love this family.”

Soobin chuckled. “Jungkook is so spoiled.”

Niki smirked. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

With laughter and playful bickering filling the air, the chaotic morning breakfast continued—just another Sunday tradition in the ever-dramatic life of Jungkook and his unconventional but loving family.

But as breakfast wrapped up, Jungkook sighed, knowing what was coming next. Under Taehyung’s strict gaze, he was led to the gym, his friends tagging along with mischievous grins. With no escape, Jungkook got down on the mat, groaning as he began his hundred pushups, his friends cheering him on like it was a championship match.

“Come on, Kook! Show us those muscles!” Niki laughed.

Soobin smirked. “This is oddly entertaining.”

Jimin, suppressing a giggle, said, “Professor Hyung, you’re so strict.”

Taehyung crossed his arms, watching Jungkook struggle. “Rules are rules.”

Jungkook glared at him mid-pushup. “You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?”

Taehyung didn’t reply, but the tiniest smirk curled at the corner of his lips.

By the time Jungkook finished, he collapsed onto the mat, panting. “Never… again…”

Mrs. Kim entered the gym, carrying a glass of juice. She crouched down, placing a gentle hand on his hair. “Good job, baby bunny.”

Jungkook smiled weakly, reaching for the juice. “Thanks, Mumma.”

Niki, Soobin, and Jimin burst into laughter as Taehyung rolled his eyes. Another Sunday tradition, complete with chaos, bickering, and, most importantly, love.

After spending more time together, chatting, and even playing a few games, Jungkook’s friends finally decided it was time to head home. They bid farewell to Mrs. Kim, who showered them with warmth and an invitation to visit again anytime. Taehyung simply gave them a curt nod before turning back to his work. As they left, Niki whispered to Jungkook, “Your life is way more dramatic than I thought.”

Jungkook only grinned. “Welcome to my world.”

Chapter Twenty-Six: An Unfortunate Collision

Monday morning arrived faster than Jungkook wanted. After a weekend filled with chaos, sleepovers, and his Sunday punishment, he wasn’t ready to face another long day of lectures. Still, he dragged himself out of bed, got dressed, and made his way to Phoenix Ridge University.

His morning classes went by in a blur, and soon it was time for lunch. Jungkook and his friends made their way to the cafeteria, chatting about weekend assignments and upcoming sports try-outs. Just as Jungkook was about to enter the cafeteria, disaster struck.

Turning the corner at full speed, he collided straight into someone, making him stumble back. He barely managed to steady himself before looking up—only to freeze in horror.

Professor Kim Jenny.

A heavy silence filled the hallway as students stopped in their tracks, watching the scene unfold. Jenny’s eyes widened for a split second before she composed herself, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “Jungkook?” she said, her tone laced with curiosity and mild annoyance.

Jungkook gulped. “Uh… Professor Jenny. I—I didn’t see you there.” He quickly bowed, trying to avoid her sharp gaze.

Jenny raised an eyebrow and folded her arms. “Clearly.” Her eyes slowly trailed over him before she smirked. “You seem to be in quite a rush. Late for another class, perhaps?”

Jungkook forced a laugh, scratching the back of his head. “No, no! Just, um… hungry.” He motioned toward the cafeteria awkwardly.

Jenny took a step closer, making him internally panic. “You’re quite an interesting student, Jungkook,” she mused, her tone almost too sweet. “You seem to have caught the attention of certain people.”

Jungkook felt a chill run down his spine. What does that even mean?!

Jenny’s smirk widened as she leaned slightly closer, lowering her voice. “You must think you’re special, don’t you? Getting privileges, walking around like you own this place.” Her tone turned sharp, condescending. “But let me remind you, respect is earned. You might have some… powerful connections, but that doesn’t mean you’re above the rest.”

Jungkook clenched his fists, his jaw tightening. She thinks I don’t deserve to be here.

Before he could respond, the tension in the air was broken by a familiar voice.

“Jungkook.”

Jungkook turned his head and sighed in relief. His friends.

Jimin, Soobin, and Niki had been waiting just a few steps away, their expressions wary. They had witnessed the whole exchange, and their presence gave Jungkook a much-needed escape.

Jenny, however, didn’t seem fazed. She smiled knowingly and said, “I’ll see you in class, Jungkook.”

Jungkook didn’t need to be told twice. “Right! See you later, Professor Jenny!” He practically sprinted into the cafeteria, dragging his friends along.

As soon as they sat down, Jimin leaned in. “Dude, what was that?”

Jungkook exhaled dramatically. “A near-death experience.”

Niki snorted. “She looked like she was about to eat you alive.”

Soobin chuckled. “Did you notice how she was trying to intimidate you?”

Jungkook nodded, still catching his breath. “Yeah. And I’m really glad you guys showed up when you did.”

Jimin studied him for a moment before speaking. “You’re not going to let this go, are you?”

Jungkook smirked devilishly, leaning back in his chair. “Oh no, she needs to learn her lesson.”

Niki blinked. “Wait… what are you planning?”

Soobin raised an eyebrow. “Are you going to ask Uncle and Auntie to throw her out?”

Jungkook scoffed. “I’d never abuse my power like that.” He tapped his temple. “But I do have brain cells, and I plan to use them. Listen we will …….. ”

Jimin leaned back, crossing his arms. “This is going to be interesting.”

Niki and Soobin exchanged looks before grinning. “We’re in.”

Jungkook’s smirk widened as he leaned forward dramatically. Then, throwing his head back, he let out an over-the-top, villainous laugh that echoed through the cafeteria. It was loud, dramatic, and entirely unnecessary.

The entire cafeteria froze for a second before bursting into uncontrollable laughter. Students from other tables turned to stare in shock, some wiping tears from their eyes, while others clutched their stomachs. Jimin had to cover his mouth to keep from choking on his drink, and Soobin was nearly on the floor from laughing so hard.

Niki wiped away a tear, shaking her head. “Jungkook, that was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.”

Jungkook grinned. “It’s called dramatic effect.”

Jimin gasped for air. “I swear, if you ever become a villain, the world is doomed.”

Jungkook wiggled his eyebrows. “Well then, let the games begin.”

His friends burst into laughter once more, watching as Jungkook’s eyes gleamed with mischief. Whatever he was planning, it was bound to be nothing short of legendary.

Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Devil's Eye

Jungkook did something rare, almost unheard of—he woke up early.

The sun had barely risen over Phoenix Ridge University when he stretched his arms and got out of bed, a sly smirk creeping onto his face. Today was the day his master plan would be set into motion. And nothing, not even an army, could stop him.

He rushed through his morning routine, showering in record time and throwing on his uniform with an energy no one would expect on a Monday morning. The second he entered the dining hall, Mrs. Kim, who was already sipping her morning tea, raised an eyebrow at him.

“You’re early,” she mused, watching him fill his plate with his usual ridiculous amount of food.

Jungkook nodded casually. “Yeah… just, you know, a fresh start, early bird, all that good stuff.” He stuffed a spoonful of rice into his mouth, avoiding her eyes.

Mrs. Kim chuckled, setting down her teacup. “Who caught the devil’s eye to make you wake up this early?”

Jungkook choked so hard on his food that for a moment, it felt like his life was flashing before his eyes. He coughed, pounding his chest while reaching for a glass of water. His face turned red as he forced himself to swallow.

“W-what are you talking about, Momma? No one!” he exclaimed, waving his hands frantically.

Mrs. Kim leaned on her hand, smirking knowingly. “Oh? Is that so?”

“Y-yeah! I just… I just thought I should be responsible for once. You always say I should take my studies more seriously!” he blurted, throwing in his best innocent smile.

Mrs. Kim only smiled wider. “Hmm. I see.”

Jungkook could feel the sweat forming on the back of his neck. Abort mission. She’s onto me. He shoved the last bite of food into his mouth and shot up from his chair. “Anyway! Gotta go! Lots of important…stuff to do!”

And with that, he bolted out of the dining hall, leaving a very amused Mrs. Kim behind.

As soon as he reached outside, he spotted his driver waiting by the sleek black car. Jungkook approached him, glancing around to make sure no one was eavesdropping.

“Is everything ready?” Jungkook asked in a hushed tone.

The driver, who had been working for the Kim family long enough to know when trouble was brewing, gulped. “Yes, young master. It’s in the trunk, just as you requested.”

Jungkook smirked. “Perfect.” He patted the car, his excitement growing.

The driver, however, was not nearly as excited. He wiped a nervous sweat from his forehead and muttered under his breath, “That poor, unfortunate soul.”

Just as Jungkook climbed into the car, back in the mansion, Taehyung had finally woken up and was making his way to the dining hall. He stretched his arms, still slightly groggy, and took a seat at the table.

“Where’s Jungkook? He is not in his room,” he asked, reaching for a cup of coffee.

Instead of answering, Mr. and Mrs. Kim simply exchanged smirks.

Taehyung froze mid-sip, his fingers tightening around the handle. His eyes darted between the two elders, his expression slowly morphing into one of sheer horror.

“What…” he began cautiously, “…did he do?”

Mrs. Kim simply sighed, feigning innocence as she took another sip of tea. “Oh, nothing much. Just left unusually early.”

Taehyung’s heart sank. He set his cup down and ran a hand through his hair, mumbling under his breath, “Who is tired of living…?”

Mr. Kim chuckled, shaking his head. “Let’s just say, someone is about to learn not to mess with our boy.”

Taehyung groaned, rubbing his temples. This can’t be good.

Determined to prevent whatever disaster Jungkook was plotting, Taehyung stood up abruptly and rushed to his room to get ready. Within minutes, he was dressed, his tie slightly loosened as he grabbed his car keys and strode toward the door.

Mrs. Kim watched him go, a satisfied smirk playing on her lips. “And there goes our hero, off to save the university.”

Mr. Kim chuckled. “Let’s just hope he makes it in time.”

Meanwhile, Jungkook was already on his way to the university, the mischievous glint in his eyes growing stronger with every passing second. His devilish master plan was about to begin.

As he arrived, the university grounds were mostly empty, the early hour keeping most students in bed. However, his loyal band of troublemakers—Niki, Jimin, and Soobin—were already waiting in the student parking lot, their faces eager and alert.

“Man, you really went all out,” Niki whistled as Jungkook stepped out of the car.

Jimin nodded, nudging the trunk with a knowing grin. “You sure you wanna go through with this? Once we do this, there’s no going back.”

Jungkook smirked, popping open the trunk. “Oh, I’m more than sure. Let the games begin.”

The driver sighed, watching the four of them unload their ‘supplies.’ “This is going to be a long day.”

Chapter Twenty-Eight: The Silent Watcher

Taehyung drove through the university gates with a focused expression, his fingers tapping lightly on the steering wheel. He already had a feeling that Jungkook was up to no good, but now, after watching his parents’ knowing smirks, he was certain. Whatever that little brat was planning, it wouldn’t be anything minor.

Parking in his designated spot, he swiftly made his way toward the administrative building. His long strides carried him down the restricted hallway, where only trusted faculty members and authorized staff were allowed. He approached a heavy, reinforced door labeled SECURITY ROOM and swiped his access card. With a faint beep, the lock disengaged, and he stepped inside.

The room was dimly lit, the glow of multiple security screens illuminating the space. Rows of monitors displayed live footage from various areas of the university—hallways, classrooms, student parking lots, and common areas. A few security personnel were inside, monitoring the campus as usual.

“Professor Kim,” one of the guards greeted, standing up slightly in respect. “Is there something you need?”

“I’ll be taking over for a while,” Taehyung said smoothly, his voice leaving no room for argument. “You may leave.”

The guards hesitated but nodded before exiting the room. The second the door clicked shut, Taehyung’s sharp eyes flickered to the monitors, immediately seeking out his target.

And there they were.

Jungkook and his group of troublemakers were gathered in the student parking lot, their backs to the cameras as they whispered amongst themselves. Their body language alone screamed suspicious—hushed tones, glances around to check for prying eyes, and the occasional burst of suppressed laughter.

Taehyung leaned back in the chair, folding his arms as an amused smirk crept onto his face. “What are you up to, little devil?” he muttered under his breath, watching as Jungkook popped open the trunk of his car and retrieved… something.

The screen resolution wasn’t the best, but Taehyung could make out a large box—heavy enough that Jungkook had to put effort into lifting it. Whatever it contained was crucial to their plan. His friends were already scurrying off toward the main building, likely to prepare the next phase.

A new feed caught Taehyung’s attention. Jungkook was now heading toward Professor Jenny’s office.

Taehyung watched as the group snuck inside, making sure no one saw them enter. The next few minutes were agonizingly long, but finally, the door creaked open again. When they stepped out, their hands were empty, and their devilish grins told him everything he needed to know.

They didn’t leave immediately. Instead, they walked a considerable distance away before tearing apart the empty boxes, ensuring there was no trace of what they had just done. Jungkook personally took the shredded pieces to a distant dumpster, making sure nothing remained.

Taehyung chuckled, shaking his head. They really thought of everything.

Instead of stopping them, Taehyung reached for the security system’s main console. With a few swift keystrokes, he accessed the recorded footage from the last fifteen minutes. He highlighted every clip that captured Jungkook and his friends and, with one final click, erased them permanently.

Next, he set the live feed on a loop, making it appear as though nothing suspicious was happening in the parking lot or near Jenny’s office. Now, no matter how many times security checked, they would only see an empty hallway and students going about their day.

Satisfied with his work, Taehyung leaned back, running a hand through his hair. That should buy them enough time to come out innocent.

A devious glint flickered in his eyes. If Jungkook was going to cause trouble, then Taehyung might as well ensure that no evidence was left behind.

Meanwhile, unaware that Taehyung had watched everything, Jungkook and his friends casually strolled into the cafeteria, sipping their drinks as if they were the most innocent students on campus. The sight made Taehyung chuckle.

“My mischievous baby,” he muttered, shaking his head fondly. With his task complete, he stood up, adjusted his blazer, and walked out of the security room as if nothing had happened. And just like that, the terror of Professor Jenny was about to begin.

Soon, the campus would be alive with students and faculty starting their day. And somewhere within those halls, Professor Jenny’s worst nightmare was about to begin.

Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Feathered Fury

The morning at Phoenix Ridge University started like any other, with students heading toward their respective lecture halls. The usual chatter filled the air, footsteps echoing through the hallways as everyone prepared for the day ahead.

But suddenly, a piercing scream cut through the air, freezing everyone in place.

Heads turned, curiosity sparked, and within seconds, a crowd of students rushed toward the source of the commotion. Whispers spread like wildfire, excitement building as people pushed through the hallway to see what had happened.

And then they saw it.

Professor Jenny stood in front of her open office door, drenched from head to toe in black and blue paint, the thick liquid dripping off her stiff form. But what truly completed the scene of utter humiliation were the countless white and sky-blue feathers stuck to her body—some still floating in the air around her.

Gasps of shock rippled through the students, but the heavy silence didn’t last long. Snickers and hushed giggles broke out as everyone took in the absolute mess that was their once-proud professor. Some tried to suppress their laughter, but their shaking shoulders and covered mouths gave them away.

And then came Jungkook and his friends.

The younger had been wandering (intensely, of course) nearby, waiting for the inevitable chaos to unfold. The moment they heard that ear-splitting scream, they hurried over, pretending to be just another curious student.

The second his eyes landed on Professor Jenny’s feathery, paint-drenched form, his knees nearly buckled with laughter. A deep, uncontrollable fit of giggles erupted from him, shaking his whole body as he clutched his stomach, bending over in absolute hysteria.

That was all it took.

The students who had been holding back finally let go, and the hallway exploded with laughter. Some were wheezing, others slapping their knees, and a few even wiping tears from their eyes. Phones were out, cameras flashing as they immortalized the moment forever.

Jenny, however, was not amused.

Her face was a shade of red darker than a ripened tomato, her eyes blazing with pure rage. She could feel the paint oozing down her arms, the feathers sticking to her hair and skin, and worst of all, the mocking laughter of students ringing in her ears.

“This… WHO DID THIS?!” she shrieked, stomping her foot. But all she got in return was another wave of laughter.

And standing among them, wiping fake tears from his eyes, was Jungkook. His devilish grin widened as he tilted his head slightly, as if genuinely curious.

“Oh no, Professor Jenny,” he said, voice dripping with mock concern. “What happened to you?”

That was when her rage snapped into focus, and without another word, she turned on her heel and stormed toward the conference office, pushing through the students who scrambled to get out of her way. The laughter followed her like an echoing curse, and she could feel the embarrassment burning in her chest.

Minutes later, the speakers crackled to life.

“All faculty and student Kim Jungkook and his three friends, report to the conference hall immediately.”

The students exchanged shocked glances. The announcement hadn't come from the principal.

Jungkook smirked, his eyes glinting mischievously as his friends gathered around him. “Looks like she took the bait.”

And with that, the entire school made their way toward the conference hall, anticipation buzzing in the air for the drama that was about to unfold.

Jungkook, still wiping away fake tears of laughter, froze mid-step. His friends—who had been just as entertained—exchanged nervous glances before all eyes landed on Jungkook.

“Oh, we’re SO doomed?” Jungkook muttered under his breath.

“We? No, YOU'RE doomed,” Niki, Soobin, and Jimin corrected, patting Jungkook’s shoulder like a condemned man on death row.

Jungkook, however, simply tilted his head, a sly smirk creeping onto his lips. “Doomed? Please. This is just the next act of my performance.”

His confidence sent a chill through his friends.

By the time they reached the conference room, nearly the entire faculty had gathered. Principal Namjoon sat at the head of the table, arms crossed, looking every bit the stern authority figure—though the faintest twitch at the corner of his lips suggested he knew exactly what was going on.

Chapter Thirty: The Trial of Feathers

The conference room was tense. Faculty members filled the space, murmuring in confusion about why they were suddenly summoned. Principal Kim Namjoon sat at the head of the table, looking unimpressed as he tapped his fingers against the desk.

Professor Jenny, still covered in black and blue paint and white feathers, stood in the center of the room, fuming with rage.

“Professor Jenny,” Namjoon’s deep voice cut through the air. “Would you like to explain why you made an announcement without my permission?”

Jenny flinched, but quickly masked her unease with anger.

“Principal sir! This is an emergency! This menace—” she jabbed a paint-streaked finger in Jungkook’s direction “—is the mastermind behind this!!”

Namjoon sighed, rubbing his temples.

“Even so, Professor Jenny, you do not have the authority to summon an emergency meeting without consulting me first. That is not how things work in this university.” His sharp gaze landed on her. “Do I make myself clear?”

Jenny clenched her jaw, seething, but she had no choice. “…Yes, Principal.”

From the other side of the room, Jungkook stood with his friends, looking like the most innocent soul to ever exist. His hands were folded in front of him, eyes wide and lips slightly pouted, as if he had no idea why he was even here.

Professor Cha Yoongi, who had been silently observing the entire scene, suddenly let out a dramatic sigh and leaned back in his chair.

“Well,” he mused, tapping his chin, “I must say… Professor Jenny, you look like a bird that escaped from the zoo.”

The room fell silent.

And then—

Pure chaos.

The faculty members, who had been holding back, completely lost it. Stifled giggles erupted into full-blown laughter.

Professor Hoseok was the first to break out, nearly falling off his chair as he doubled over, clutching his stomach.

Jungkook?

Jungkook actually fell to the floor, rolling on his back as he laughed so hard he could barely breathe. His friends weren’t any better—Jimin had collapsed onto Soobin’s shoulder, while Niki was slamming the wall with her palm.

Jenny, meanwhile, was shaking with fury, her fists clenched so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

And then—

The door of the conference room swung open.

Professor Kim entered, his usual calm and composed aura filling the space. He took one step inside—

And froze.

His sharp eyes landed on Professor Jenny, who was still dripping in paint and covered in feathers.

Taehyung’s expression twitched.

His lips parted slightly, as if on the verge of laughter.

And then—

Without saying a single word, Taehyung stepped back out of the room and—

Locked the door.

“Damn it, Jungkook, you little devil!!!!”

Outside the door, Taehyung leaned against the wall, running a frustrated hand through his hair before muttering under his breath:

I swear, that brat’s mind is dangerous.

From outside, muffled cursing could be heard.

Inside, the room fell silent for two seconds.

And then—

Yoongi, still grinning from his previous comment, decided to throw fuel onto the fire.

“It’s okay, Professor Kim. Everyone can laugh after seeing a zoo bird.

That was it.

The entire room exploded again.

Professor Hoseok actually did fall off his chair this time, rolling onto the floor while wheezing.

Jungkook? Still on the ground, his legs kicking in the air as he laughed so hard that tears streamed down his face.

Even the strictest professors had to look away, biting their knuckles to stop themselves from laughing.

The door unlocked, and Taehyung re-entered, this time firmly avoiding Jenny’s direction as he took his seat, clearing his throat.

“…Shall we begin the meeting?” he asked, his voice a bit strained.

Yoongi smirked, sipping his coffee.

“This is the best meeting we’ve had in years.”

And once again, the room erupted in laughter.

Professor Jenny stormed in, eyes wild, her once neatly tied hair now a matted, paint-streaked mess. Her heels clicked sharply against the floor as she threw a furious glare at Jungkook.

“This—THIS MENACE!” she roared, pointing at Jungkook as if he were a criminal on trial. “HE DID THIS! I KNOW IT!”

Jungkook blinked, placing a hand over his heart in exaggerated offense.

“Professor Jenny, how COULD you accuse me of such a thing? I was simply enjoying my morning walk when I heard the scream!”

The entire room went silent.

And then—

Hoseok burst into laughter.

It started as a small chuckle, but then Yoongi followed, and soon, the entire room was vibrating with stifled giggles. Even some of the professors had to look away, pretending to clear their throats.

Jenny’s face twisted in frustration. “HE’S LYING! HE’S MOCKING ME!”

Principal Namjoon sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose before turning toward Jungkook. “Jungkook,” he said, voice calm but firm. “Do you have anything to say in your defense?”

Jungkook tilted his head, his signature innocent bunny smile in place.

“Well…” he started, tapping his chin dramatically, “I would NEVER disrespect a professor like that, Principal. That would be terribly inappropriate.”

The entire room held their breath.

Namjoon exhaled slowly. “Jungkook.”

Jungkook clasped his hands together, tilting his head in fake innocence. “Yes, Principal-nim?”

Namjoon’s eye twitched.

Taehyung, who had been silently watching from his seat, hid a smirk behind his hand.

Oh, his little brat was having way too much fun with this.

Jenny, still livid, turned to Namjoon, demanding justice.

“This is OUTRAGEOUS! HE NEEDS TO BE PUNISHED!”

Chapter Thirty-One: The Search for Evidence

Namjoon sighed, rubbing his temples as he faced an enraged Professor Jenny. "I cannot take any action against Jungkook without solid proof," he stated firmly.

Jenny huffed in frustration, crossing her arms. "Then let's check the CCTV footage! That will show everything!"

Jungkook and his friends tensed at her words but quickly masked their nervousness. They had been so sure that Jenny would just scream and let it go, not take it this far. Their minds raced, already planning how to handle the situation once the footage was revealed. They knew the cameras had recorded them—there was no way they hadn’t been caught.

As they all started walking towards the security room, Niki nudged Jungkook. "We’re screwed, right?" she whispered.

Jungkook forced a casual shrug but felt his stomach twist. "I’ll take full responsibility if it comes to that," he muttered.

His friends instantly shook their heads in disagreement. "Hell no. We’re in this together," Jimin insisted, determination flashing in his eyes while Soobin and Niki nodded in agreement, standing firmly by his side.

Meanwhile, Taehyung remained calm, his strict expression giving nothing away. But inside, he was enjoying every moment. He could see the subtle fear in Jungkook’s eyes, the way his fingers clenched slightly as they walked. He’s scared of the footage being checked.

But Taehyung knew something Jungkook didn’t—there was nothing to find. He had personally erased every recording and set the cameras on a loop before leaving the security room earlier. He was waiting to see Jungkook’s reaction when he realized he was safe.

As they reached the restricted security section, Namjoon turned to the staff. "Has anyone entered this room today? Have you left it unattended at any point?"

The security personnel shook their heads. "No, sir. Only authorized faculty members have access."

"Good. Let's check the footage," Jenny demanded impatiently.

The screen flickered to life, and everyone leaned in to see the evidence unfold. But as the footage played, the room fell into stunned silence. The security feed was completely clear—nothing unusual was recorded.

Jungkook and his friends stared at the screen, their mouths slightly open. How? Their expressions momentarily betrayed their shock before they quickly masked it, pretending they weren’t expecting anything incriminating to show up.

Jenny's face twisted in frustration. "This can’t be right! Someone tampered with the footage!"

Jenny stiffened, her fury turning into unease.

Jungkook tilted his head, a fake innocent expression on his face. "Professor Jenny, are you saying the security system of Phoenix Ridge University was breached? That’s a serious claim."

Jenny fumed, her hands clenching into fists. "I—That’s not what I—"

Jungkook pressed on, his voice filled with feigned concern. "Wait, does this mean you did it to yourself? Because if I remember correctly, no one entered your office after you left yesterday. Are you trying to frame us? Maybe because I accidentally spilled my smoothie on you last time?"

“WHAT?!” Jenny shrieked.

The security room went dead silent, and Jungkook’s friends bit their lips to keep from laughing. The tables had turned, and Jenny found herself in the very situation she had tried to trap Jungkook in.

They all returned to the conference room, where Namjoon stood at the center, his arms crossed. Namjoon sighed again, looking at Jungkook before shaking his head. “Since there is no concrete evidence to prove that Jungkook was responsible—”

“—this will be dismissed as an unfortunate accident,” Namjoon finished smoothly.

"Professor Jenny, without evidence, I cannot take any action against Jungkook or his friends. This discussion is over." He gave her a sharp look. "Next time, do not make an announcement without my permission."

Jenny was speechless, her face burning with anger and embarrassment. She turned her glare toward Jungkook, who stood at the side, feigning innocence.

Professor Yoongi leaned back in his chair and took out his phone, smirking. "say cheese!!!!!!!"

The conference room burst into laughter once again, with Taehyung’s lips twitching in amusement. Everyone leaves to go towards their lecture halls for second lecture.

Jenny looked ready to explode, but the smug grin on Jungkook’s face was what finally made her lose it, now shaking with rage, she took a step forward toward Jungkook. Without thinking, she raised her hand, about to slap him.

“YOU LITTLE—

But before she could, Taehyung moved. His grip caught her wrist mid-air, his sharp eyes glaring down at her. With a rough jerk, he pushed her hand away, his voice dangerously cold. "Professor Jenny, Kim Jungkook is my student. I will not tolerate you touching any of my students without a proper reason or evidence."

And just like that—Jenny was defeated.

She yanked her hand back, clenched into fists, her face burning red, but she knew she had no choice.

“I… I NEED TO GO CLEAN UP!” she finally yelled, stomping out of the room like a furious peacock, feathers still stuck to her clothes.

Jungkook and his friends let out a relieved sigh, finally relaxing.  Jungkook grinned devilishly “Well,” he said, “that went well.”

But then, Taehyung’s deep voice cut through their relief. "In my home office. All of you. After classes are over."

A shiver ran down their spines. They had won against Jenny, but now… they had to face Taehyung.

Chapter Thirty-Two: The Inevitable Reckoning

The final bell rang, signaling the end of the last class. Jungkook and his friends slowly packed their things, exchanging uneasy glances. The weight of Taehyung’s words still hung over them like a dark cloud.

"In my home office. All of you. After classes are over."

It was all they could think about throughout the day, and now, as they made their way to the student parking lot, their steps were hesitant, almost reluctant.

Soobin nervously glanced at the others as they neared Jungkook’s car. "Guys... what if Professor Kim erased the security footage to save Jungkook? I mean, it makes sense, right? If he wanted us caught, the footage would’ve still been there."

Niki nodded quickly. "Yeah, and he was oddly calm about the whole situation. I feel like he knew something we didn’t."

Jimin sighed, rubbing his temples. "That does sound possible... but honestly, I’d rather think about it after we survive whatever’s waiting for us at the mansion."

Jungkook, who had been quiet all this time, finally turned to them with a serious expression. "Let’s not waste time overthinking this. We have to reach home on time. If we’re late, we’ll be signing our death certificates."

Without another word, they all slipped into the car, their hearts pounding slightly faster than usual. Jungkook’s driver started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot, driving toward home, but after a few minutes, he made an unexpected stop at a flower shop.

Jimin raised an eyebrow. "Uh... Jungkook? Why are we stopping here?"

Jungkook casually unbuckled his seatbelt and smirked. "I need to buy some fresh flowers."

Niki tilted her head. "For what?"

Jungkook’s grin widened as he opened the door to step out. "For our funeral. Which will be happening very soon. Might as well be prepared."

The entire car fell silent before Soobin groaned and buried his face in his hands. "You’re so dramatic, but honestly... you’re probably right."

Jungkook returned with a bouquet of white lilies, looking all too pleased with himself as they drove the rest of the way back to the mansion. As soon as they reached home, the tension in the car heightened. They had survived the day, but now came the real trial.

The grand mansion stood before them, tall and imposing, almost mocking their impending fate. Jungkook took a deep breath before leading his friends inside.

As they stepped into the living room, they were immediately greeted by his parents, Mr. Kim and Mrs. Kim, who were lounging comfortably on the plush sofa, clearly waiting for them.

Jungkook walked up to them and extended the bouquet of lilies. "Here, Momma. Dada. These are for you."

Mrs. Kim arched an elegant eyebrow while Mr. Kim adjusted his glasses. "Did you kill someone? Should we call our lawyer?”

“Is their family asking for money? How much?" Mrs. Kim asked, deadpan.

Jungkook pouted, crossing his arms. "I did not kill anyone! It’s just that hyungie Hyung is angry... Can you guys save us from him?"

His parents exchanged knowing smirks before Mr. Kim chuckled. "Oh, darling, you’re on your own for this one. We’d rather not risk our own safety."

Jungkook sighed dramatically, placing the bouquet on the nearby table. "Fine... then at least keep these flowers in memory of us after we’re gone."

Mrs. Kim exchanged a glance with her husband before gasping dramatically, clutching her chest. "Oh, my sweet baby is so thoughtful! Bringing us flowers before his inevitable demise!" She sniffled as if holding back tears. "How did I raise such a responsible child?"

Mr. Kim, not one to be outdone, wiped an imaginary tear and nodded solemnly. "Yes, we shall cherish these lilies in your memory. You were a wonderful son. We are proud of you."

Jimin, Soobin, and Niki stood frozen, watching the exchange with wide eyes.

"Oh my god," Soobin whispered. "They’re worse than him."

Jungkook groaned, running a hand through his hair. "Okay, enough with the dramatics. We still have to survive Professor Kim’s wrath."

Mrs. Kim waved a hand dismissively. "Oh, don’t worry, dear. Your father and I will make sure the funeral arrangements are perfect if the worst happens."

Jungkook turned to his friends, deadpanning. "See? This is where I get it from."

His friends nodded solemnly, playing along, while Mrs. Kim chuckled and patted Jungkook’s cheek. "Good luck, my son. You’ll need it."

Jimin patted his shoulder. "At least we’ll have a proper send-off."

Just then, a sharp voice cut through the moment, sending shivers down their spines.

"If you’re done with the emotional farewell," Taehyung’s voice echoed from the hallway, "my home office. Now."

The room fell into dead silence.

Jungkook gulped, turning to his friends with wide eyes. "Well, that’s our cue. Pray for us."

As they hesitantly made their way toward Taehyung’s office, Mr. and Mrs. Kim shared a knowing glance before casually standing up.

"Shall we follow them?" Mr. Kim asked, amusement twinkling in his eyes.

Mrs. Kim smirked, adjusting her shawl. "Of course. How else will we get the full gossip?"

And with that, they trailed behind, eager to witness the drama unfold.
