Chapter 41: HIS LUNA
The Awakening of the True
Blood Alpha
The day had finally arrived.
The sun had barely risen, yet the entire pack was already awake, preparing
for the sacred ritual that would awaken Taehyung’s True Blood Alpha wolf. A
heavy tension loomed over the land as if the very air could sense the
importance of what was about to take place. Witches stood in a protective
circle around the sacred ground, their chants low yet powerful, sending waves
of ancient magic into the earth beneath them. The sky, unusually dark for this
time of day, rumbled in response, thick clouds swirling as if the heavens
themselves were watching.
Jungkook stood beside Taehyung, his fingers gripping tightly onto his mate’s
wrist. He hated this. The idea of Taehyung undergoing such a painful
transformation made his heart ache, but he knew it was necessary. Without
Taehyung’s full strength, they had no chance against Woosik.
“Are you ready?” Namjoon’s voice was calm, but his sharp eyes scanned
Taehyung’s face for any hesitation.
Taehyung exhaled deeply, rolling his shoulders as if shaking off invisible
chains. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for lifetimes. It’s time.”
The head witch, an elder with silver hair and piercing violet eyes, stepped
forward. She extended her hands, palms glowing with golden energy. “Step into
the circle, True Blood Alpha,” she commanded, her voice echoing with authority.
Taehyung spared Jungkook one last glance before walking into the center of
the sacred space. The moment he crossed the boundary, a powerful force surged
through his body, making his breath hitch. The witches began to chant in
unison, their voices weaving together like a melody of the gods. The ground
trembled beneath him, and his veins ignited with molten heat.
Jungkook watched with wide eyes, his heartbeat erratic. He could see the
struggle in Taehyung’s clenched jaw, his fingers digging into his arms as if
trying to hold himself together.
Then, a sudden gust of wind exploded outward from Taehyung’s body, sending
dust and leaves flying. A deafening howl tore from his throat, his back arching
in agony as golden light erupted from within him. His body shifted
involuntarily, bones snapping and reforming as the dormant power inside him
finally awakened.
His wolf was breaking free.
But before anyone could react, the scent of blood and smoke filled the air.
A distant howl echoed through the land, followed by the sound of battle cries.
“The pack is under attack!” Namjoon shouted, his wolf already pushing
forward.
Alphas immediately shifted, their bodies morphing into powerful beasts as
they rushed toward the battlefield. The rogues had come, just as the witches
had warned. They wanted to stop the ritual at all costs.
Jungkook’s head snapped toward Taehyung, whose transformation was still
underway. But then, something changed. The moment his wolf fully emerged, the
control Taehyung had over himself shattered.
His massive black-and-gold wolf let out a deep, earth-shaking snarl. His
crimson eyes burned with unrestrained fury, and without a second thought, he
launched himself into the battle.
“Step back!” Jungkook shouted, alerting the pack members. “He’s lost
control!”
Taehyung was a force of destruction, ripping through the enemy without a
second thought. The rogue wolves barely stood a chance. Blood splattered across
the battlefield as Taehyung tore through them mercilessly, his instincts driven
purely by bloodlust.
Jungkook turned to the witches. “How do we stop him?!”
The head witch’s face was grim. “His wolf has been locked away for too long.
He won’t recognize who he is killing. He will end everyone in his path.”
Jungkook’s breath hitched. “Then what do I do?”
The witch’s gaze softened. “Only his mate can calm him.”
Jungkook’s eyes darted back to the battlefield, where Taehyung had already
eliminated most of the rogues. But now, his glowing red eyes were scanning the
area—looking for more prey. His gaze locked onto their pack members.
Without hesitation, Jungkook shifted into his own wolf form, his black fur
gleaming under the moonlight, his purple eyes glowing with determination. He
launched himself toward Taehyung, colliding into his massive form with a force
that sent them both tumbling across the bloodied ground.
Taehyung snarled, snapping his fangs toward Jungkook, but Jungkook refused
to back down. He nuzzled his mate’s neck, letting out low, soothing whimpers
despite Taehyung’s aggression. His own wolf radiated warmth, trying to remind
Taehyung who he was, who they were.
After a fierce struggle, Taehyung’s attacks slowed. His growls became
softer, his tense body easing slightly. Jungkook licked his muzzle, whispering
through their bond, Come back to me, my alpha.
With a final shudder, Taehyung let out a heavy breath before his wolf
collapsed, shifting back into his human form. He lay unconscious, his body
covered in blood—some his own, some not. His bare skin glowed faintly under the
light of the rising moon.
Jungkook shifted back, quickly wrapping Taehyung in his arms. “I’ve got
you,” he whispered, brushing the blood-matted hair away from Taehyung’s
peaceful face. His heartbeat was steady but weak.
As the battlefield fell into silence, Jungkook realized the weight of what
had just happened. Taehyung’s True Blood Alpha had awakened—but at what cost?
And with Woosik growing stronger every day, the real fight had only just
begun.
