Chapter 45: CRIMSON OBSESSION

 Power Plays

The news hit like a thunderstorm.

Every major media outlet was ablaze with headlines, flashing the announcement that Jeon Jungkook, the elusive CEO of Jeon Enterprises, was set to marry a top actress. The world was in an uproar—journalists scrambling to uncover details, fans obsessing over the mysterious businessman who had never been publicly seen, and the actress herself basking in the media frenzy that propelled her further into the spotlight.

But Taehyung? He stood frozen, his grip on the newspaper tightening until the paper crumbled beneath his fingers.

Marriage.

His lips curled into a mirthless smirk, eyes dark with something that was neither amusement nor anger—but a twisted combination of both. He forced himself to read every word, every fabricated statement from the actress about how ‘deeply in love’ she was with Jungkook.

Deeply in love.

“Fucking liar,” he muttered, throwing the paper onto his desk.

Jungkook was his.

The bruises still faintly marred his skin, the reminder of their last encounter sending a shiver of something electric down his spine. Jungkook had forced him to his knees, had claimed dominance over him—but now, now, he was pretending to be the perfect fiancé to some pathetic actress?

The thought made his blood boil. Not because he was jealous, no. It was because Jungkook was his to break, his to dominate, his to ruin. And no one, no matter how famous or cunning, would ever take what belonged to him.

“Sir.” Jimin’s voice cut through the thick tension in the room.

Taehyung didn’t turn to look at him. “Tell me everything.”

Jimin hesitated for a moment before stepping closer. “It’s a publicity stunt. The actress is using this engagement to boost her popularity. She’s been pushing for marriage rumors for months, but Jungkook never responded… until now.”

That made Taehyung pause.

Jungkook agreed to this?

“Why would he go along with it?” His voice was deceptively calm, but Jimin knew better than to be fooled.

“I don’t know,” Jimin admitted. “But something about this feels off. Jungkook isn’t the type to let anyone control his narrative. If he’s allowing this, there must be a reason.”

Taehyung’s jaw clenched. A reason?

He exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair before turning to Jimin. “Find out what it is. And make sure that woman understands something very clearly—Jeon Jungkook is not hers to claim.”

Jimin nodded and left the room, but Taehyung remained still, staring at the newspaper. His mind was a chaotic battlefield of thoughts.

If Jungkook wanted to play this game, then so be it.

He would remind him exactly who he belonged to.
