Chapter 46: HIS LUNA
Preparing for War
The once serene training grounds of the pack were now filled with the echoes
of clashing bodies, growls, and the sharp snap of claws against flesh. The
scent of earth and sweat mingled in the crisp morning air as Taehyung and
Jungkook stood in the center, their eyes locked in determination.
Taehyung rolled his shoulders, his golden eyes gleaming in the sunlight.
"Ready, Luna?" he teased, smirking as he watched Jungkook stretch his
limbs.
Jungkook scoffed, cracking his knuckles. "Don’t go easy on me,
Alpha."
With a flicker of movement, Taehyung lunged forward, his speed almost too
fast to track. Jungkook barely dodged, countering with a swift kick aimed at
Taehyung’s ribs. Taehyung twisted, grabbing Jungkook’s ankle mid-air and
flipping him over, but before he could pin him down, Jungkook shifted into his
wolf form—a sleek, black beast with glowing purple eyes.
Taehyung smirked, his own transformation seamless as his massive
golden-black wolf stood proudly before his mate. They circled each other, the
energy between them crackling with raw power. Jungkook feigned left before
darting right, his fangs bared as he aimed for Taehyung’s exposed flank.
Taehyung anticipated the move, dodging with an effortless leap before tackling
Jungkook to the ground, pressing a heavy paw to his chest.
Jungkook huffed, glaring up at him before mind linking. "That was
dirty."
Taehyung chuckled, releasing him and replying back. "All’s fair in war,
my love."
From the edge of the training ground, Namjoon and Jin observed, their expressions
serious. "They’re getting stronger together," Namjoon muttered.
"But is it enough?"
Jin’s brows furrowed. "They have to be. If Woosik attacks before the
full moon, they need to hold their ground."
Jimin and Hoseok joined them, watching as Taehyung and Jungkook resumed
sparring. "I don’t think we need to worry about them," Jimin said
with a knowing smirk. "They’re terrifying when they fight together."
"And stubborn," Hoseok added. "Neither one of them will let
the other fall."
The session continued for hours, Jungkook and Taehyung pushing themselves
beyond their limits. Jungkook honed his agility, using his smaller frame to
outmaneuver Taehyung’s brute strength, while Taehyung practiced restraint,
learning to control the overwhelming power of his newly awakened true blood
wolf.
As the sun began to set, Jungkook collapsed onto the grass, panting. "I
hate you," he grumbled, throwing an arm over his face.
Taehyung plopped down beside him, grinning. "No, you don’t."
Jungkook peeked at him before shoving his face into Taehyung’s chest.
"Shut up."
With a soft chuckle, Taehyung wrapped his arms around him, placing a
lingering kiss on his temple. "We’re getting stronger, Jungkook. We’ll win
this war. Together."
Jungkook tightened his grip around Taehyung, nodding against his chest.
"Together."
Just then, an urgent howl echoed across the training grounds, breaking their
moment. A scout rushed towards them, his breath ragged. "Alpha, Luna!
Woosik's spies have been spotted near the border. We may not have as much time
as we thought."
Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged a glance, their playful exhaustion replaced
by fierce determination.
"Then we train harder," Taehyung declared. "We won’t let them
catch us off guard."
Jungkook nodded, his purple eyes glinting with resolve. "We fight until
we’re strong enough to end this. Once and for all."
Without hesitation, they ran towards the forest, following the scent of the
intruder. Taehyung's heightened senses made it easy to track him down. The
rogue tried to escape, but Jungkook intercepted him, tackling him to the
ground. With a final growl, Taehyung pinned the struggling spy beneath his
claws.
"We take him alive," Jungkook ordered, his voice firm. "He
could have valuable information."
Together, they dragged the captured rogue back to the pack, locking him away
for interrogation. The real battle was yet to come, but with each passing day,
they were getting ready for the war that would determine the fate of all
werewolves.
