Chapter 48: HIS LUNA
Shadows of War—Rogue Ambush
and Jimin’s Disappearance
The night was eerily silent, an unnatural stillness suffocating the air. The
usual sounds of crickets and rustling leaves had disappeared, leaving only an unsettling
void. The moon hung low, its silver glow casting eerie shadows across the dense
forest that bordered the pack's territory.
Taehyung stood at the highest vantage point, his golden eyes narrowing as he
scanned the treetops. His senses prickled with unease. Something was coming. He
could feel it in the way the wind carried a scent—something pungent, something
tainted with the metallic tang of blood and decay.
“Jungkook,” he murmured, his voice like a blade cutting through the tension.
Jungkook stood beside him, his violet eyes flashing with alertness. “I smell
them too.” His wolf growled deep within him, sensing the danger that lurked
just beyond sight.
A low, guttural howl erupted from the treeline, followed by the snapping of
branches and the heavy thudding of feet against the forest floor.
Then, all at once, the night exploded into chaos.
Rogues poured into the clearing, their eyes wild with madness, their snarls
sharp and hungry. They were more than just desperate wolves—they were creatures
driven by something darker, something unnatural.
Namjoon’s voice cut through the mayhem. “Defend the pack!”
Wolves shifted instantly, launching into battle. The air filled with the
sound of snapping jaws and the painful yelps of fallen warriors. The scent of
blood stained the once-pristine land as bodies clashed in a ruthless fight for
survival.
Jungkook lunged forward, his massive black wolf tearing through the first
rogue with swift brutality. His fangs sank deep into its throat, silencing its
snarl in an instant. Taehyung followed suit, his golden-black wolf form moving
like a storm, cutting through the enemies with terrifying precision.
The pack fought fiercely, matching the rogues’ relentless assault with their
own unbreakable determination. But something was wrong. The enemy’s attacks
were too calculated, too synchronized. This wasn’t just another rogue
ambush—this was planned.
Then came a scream—piercing and filled with raw terror.
Jimin.
Yoongi’s head snapped in the direction of the sound, his heart lurching
painfully. “Jimin!” His voice was a feral snarl as he tore through enemies in
his path, his wolf’s desperation overriding all sense of strategy.
Hoseok turned just in time to see a shadow dart through the battlefield,
carrying a struggling Jimin over their shoulder. The Omega kicked and thrashed,
his voice breaking into panicked cries as he was dragged into the depths of the
forest.
“No!” Hoseok’s roar was raw with fury, his entire body trembling.
Yoongi didn’t hesitate. His wolf surged forward, blind with rage, tearing
through any rogue that dared to slow him down. Hoseok followed, his breath
ragged, his own wolf urging him to run faster.
“Jungkook!” Taehyung’s voice rang out, desperate and sharp. He had shifted
back into his human form, his chest heaving, his hands bloodstained. “They took
Jimin!”
Jungkook whirled around, his stomach dropping as he caught sight of Yoongi
and Hoseok vanishing into the dark woods. “Shit! We have to go after them!”
Namjoon gritted his teeth, finishing off the rogue in front of him before
turning to face them. “We can’t leave the pack vulnerable.”
“We don’t have a choice!” Taehyung growled, his golden eyes blazing with
fury. “Jimin is our family. I will not let them take him!”
Namjoon hesitated for only a second before giving a firm nod. “Take a small
team. The rest of us will hold the borders.”
Taehyung wasted no time. He gathered their strongest warriors before
sprinting after Yoongi and Hoseok, his heart hammering with urgency. Jungkook
ran beside him, his wolf howling in his mind, urging him forward.
The forest stretched before them, dark and filled with unseen dangers. The
scent of Jimin’s fear lingered in the air, pulling them forward.
The pack had been attacked, and now Jimin was gone.
But they would get him back. Even if they had to burn everything to the
ground to do it.
