Chapter 54: HIS LUNA
The Silence Before the Storm
The air inside the war chamber was thick with unease. Taehyung sat at the
head of the table, his fingers tapping against the wooden surface rhythmically.
His sharp eyes scanned the room, taking in the tense expressions of his pack
leaders and allies. It had been two days since Woosik had been freed from his
seal, yet there had been no attack—no movement, no sign of aggression. The
silence was unsettling.
Jungkook, sitting beside Taehyung, was finally free from the haze of his
heat, his mind now clear and sharp. He observed everyone, reading their body
language. They were all thinking the same thing—why hadn’t Woosik attacked yet?
Namjoon was the first to break the silence. “This doesn’t make sense. If
Woosik is free, he should’ve launched an attack by now. We are vulnerable—at
least, that’s what he must believe. So why is he holding back?”
Hoseok leaned forward, his brows furrowed. “He isn’t the type to hesitate.
He must be planning something. Maybe he’s gathering forces?”
“That’s possible,” Jin agreed, crossing his arms. “But why wait? He already
had an army before he was sealed away. Even if he lost numbers, he could’ve
attacked immediately and caught us off guard.”
Jimin, still visibly shaken from his recent kidnapping, shivered slightly.
“Maybe he’s playing with us,” he whispered. “Trying to make us paranoid.
Keeping us on edge so we exhaust ourselves before the real fight.”
Yoongi exhaled sharply. “That would be just like him.” His fingers tapped
against the table in frustration. “But if he’s stalling, there has to be a
reason. He’s not just toying with us for fun—he wants something.”
Jungkook’s eyes flickered a deep purple for a split second before he spoke.
“The witches said we only have one chance, it is do or die case, two Trueblood
Alphas can't exist together, so either he or Alpha Taehyung will survive this
war," he reminded everyone. “If Woosik knows that, he might be waiting for
the moment we are not prepared to fight back with full strength. We need to
stay alert.”
Taehyung’s gaze darkened. “Then that means he won’t attack now. He’ll wait
until we’re most vulnerable.”
Namjoon nodded grimly. “That means we have to be prepared and alert. We need
to assume he’ll strike the moment we showed a slight weakness.”
Taehyung clenched his jaw. “Then we’ll make sure he fails.”
The room fell silent again, the weight of the situation pressing down on
them. They had been expecting an immediate battle, but instead, they were
forced into a dangerous waiting game. One wrong move, and everything they had
worked for would be lost.
Jungkook reached under the table, his fingers brushing against Taehyung’s in
silent reassurance. Taehyung grasped his hand firmly, grounding himself.
“We don’t let fear control us,” Taehyung declared, his voice steady and
commanding. “We train harder, stay alert, and prepare for the worst. If Woosik
is waiting for our weakness, then we’ll be ready for him with full strength.”
A collective nod of agreement passed through the room. The next few days
would determine their future.
And this time, they refused to let Woosik win.
