Chapter 61: HIS LUNA
Home Sweet Home
The battle had ended, leaving behind a bloodstained forest and countless
bodies of fallen enemies. The heavy scent of iron still clung to the air, but
victory had been claimed. Woosik was no more, his reign of terror shattered by
the power of the True Blood Mates. Now, the war was over, and it was time to
return home.
Taehyung stood amidst the remnants of destruction, his chest rising and
falling in exhaustion. His golden eyes flickered as he turned to Jungkook,
whose body was smeared with blood—some his own, some belonging to their
enemies. The younger’s breath was uneven, but he was alive, strong, and
standing by his side. That was all that mattered.
Namjoon and Yoongi approached, their expressions a mix of relief and
concern. "We should move before any remnants of Woosik’s followers
regroup," Namjoon advised, scanning the wreckage of the battlefield.
"The pack needs us."
Jungkook nodded, his gaze softening as he looked at Taehyung. "Let’s go
home."
The journey back was slow but steady. Wounded warriors were supported by
their packmates, and despite the exhaustion that weighed on them all, there was
an undeniable sense of triumph in the air. They had fought for their people,
for their future, and they had won.
As they neared the borders of their territory, the first sight of their pack
waiting for them sent a surge of warmth through Taehyung’s chest. The wolves
who had stayed behind to protect the young and the elders stood at the
entrance, their eyes wide with anticipation. As soon as they caught sight of
their victorious warriors, a collective howl echoed through the air—a call of
welcome, of gratitude, of celebration.
Jin was the first to rush forward, his eyes brimming with unshed tears as he
pulled Namjoon into a crushing embrace. "You’re safe," he whispered,
his voice trembling with emotion.
Jimin followed, his steps faltering as he locked eyes with Yoongi and
Hoseok. The three shared a silent moment before Jimin ran into their arms,
burying his face in his mate’s chest. "I was so scared," he
confessed, his fingers digging into Yoongi’s torn shirt.
"I’m here now," Yoongi murmured, pressing a kiss to Jimin’s
forehead. "We’re all here."
Hoseok grinned, though his eyes betrayed the exhaustion beneath. "We
actually did it. We stopped that bastard."
Laughter and relieved murmurs spread through the pack as the warriors
embraced their loved ones. But it was Jungkook’s quiet voice that finally made
Taehyung turn.
"Taehyung?"
Taehyung faced him, his expression unreadable. Jungkook shifted nervously
under his mate’s gaze, feeling an odd sense of vulnerability. Then, without
warning, Taehyung stepped forward and pulled Jungkook into his arms, holding
him as if he never intended to let go.
"You scared the hell out of me," Taehyung muttered, his voice
tight. "I thought I lost you."
Jungkook exhaled shakily, wrapping his arms around Taehyung’s waist. "I
knew you’d come for me. I never doubted you."
Taehyung pulled back just enough to cup Jungkook’s face, his thumb brushing
over a fading bruise. "I will always come for you. Always."
A sense of peace settled between them, and for the first time in weeks,
Jungkook allowed himself to breathe without fear. They had survived the storm,
and now, they had a future to build together.
The pack welcomed them home with cheers, but as the celebrations began,
Taehyung and Jungkook knew—this was just the beginning. Their journey wasn’t
over. They had a pack to lead, a home to rebuild, and a new era to shape.
But for now, they would rest, wrapped in the warmth of their people, their
love, and the promise of tomorrow.
